Timeshare Scam Nayarit

We went to dinner at the Puerto Vallarta Brasil on Sunday September 14th and had a great dinner.

At the end of the meal, I was approached by Jorge Aguilera about doing a timeshare at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta and was promised $4000.00 pesos ($400.00 US) plus round trip cab fare. If my wife and I attended the 90 minute timeshare presentation.

As agreed, we met Jorge the next morning (Monday September 15th) in front of our Hotel and he place us in a taxi off to the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta.

When we arrived at the Grand Mayan, we signed in and almost immediately were told that they could not pay us what Jorge promised us in writing and began this story about how it was aganst Mexico law to pay us that much.

At that point, I informed the man that I didn't appreciate being lied to and that we were not interested in anything that that wanted to show us because I did not trust them and would not buy from someone that we did not trust. I asked that they return us back to Puerto Vallarta. He told us that Jorge was the liar, not them.

Needless to say, we ended up paying for our own taxi back to Puerto Vallarta which was very expensive.

This was our 8th trip to Mexico and 7th time to Brasil for dinner. We have attended presentations in the past with no problems until now. I will no longer eat at Brasil nor recommend Brasil to others because of this horrible experience.

I am also going to post this experience on other travel websites in the next few days to warn others of this tactic.

FYI, we were ACTUALLY considering buying an additional timeshare unlike most who attend these presentations.
