Finger Lakes Getaways Attn: Janet Butler & Lynn Hayes fingerlakesgetawaysinc.com Vacation rental did not live up to its lofty claims and then brokers/rentors blatantly lie to keep security deposit!

Do not rent this property (3569 E. Lamoka Lake Rd.) or work with Finger Lakes Getaways, Inc.in Penn Yan, New York. While the lake was truly beautiful, this house in horrible condition and dealing with the realators was similar to a root canal.

First of all, the description of this house fingerlakesgetawaysinc.com/vacation28.html contains a number of blatant, misleading lies. The "well equipped kitchen" had horribly outdated appliances that were questionable, at best. The "large color TV w / DVD player" probably should have noted the horrible, fuzzy reception on an 18 inch screen and that the DVD player was BROKEN. The fishing dock was rotting away and felt as if it was ready to collapse at any minute.

On our final day, we cleaned the entire house, leaving it looking MUCH better than the filthy mess it was when we first got there. To be fair, the lake was the center of our trip and was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we didn't rent the lake, we rented a house in various states of disrepair that didn't live up to its misleading description.

To add insult to injury, Mrs. Janet Butler (supposed "Licensed Real Estate Broker") and Mrs. Lynn Hayes falsely claimed that we "ripped some siding off of the house, " and refused to return our $300 security deposit. There is no possible way this could have actually happened while we were there. We suspect that this is their way they fund the "upkeep" of this shoddy rental property. Who knows how many rentors have been told they are responsible for non-existent damages and robbed of their security deposit?

In our opinion, DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS THROUGH FINKER LAKES GETAWAYS, INC., specifically avoiding the rental: 3569 E. Lamoka Rd in the New York Fingerlakes area!
