Too good to be true, refused to let me investigate before paying mebership fee's, very pushy sales reps ripoff

Traveling & Tourism

I received a call at work on 1 of my 7 rollover lines which since our company moved several years ago used to belong to an entirely different person, being skeptical i decided to listen to the sales pitch, it sounded too good to be true, but continued to listen, My girlfriend & I decided to go to their seminar & listen to their sales pitch/presentation & the man doing the presentation claimed to be a former goaltender from the Boston Bruins who had retired due to a bad shoulder & when asked if he played with Bobby Orr he said yes & Bobby Orr was a big drinker, this may or may not be true, but it gives you an idea of the lengths people will go to to gain your confidence & eventually your hard earned money, After the 90 minute presentation we were escorted into a large office with many desks/tables & each location had a sales rep & many books, pamphlets & brochures, but not a single computer was visible in the entire building, upon listening to the womans sales pitch & viewing her so called better business bureau documents (which again roused my suspicions) my girlfriend & i decided to step outside for a smoke & discuss the whole thing & to which the lady rep said i'll join you for a smoke, she continued her sales pitch the entire time we were smoking, barely giving us time alone to discuss the whole thing, we then went back in & she continued to give more & more sales pitch's trying very hard to entice us into buying an on the spot membership at a cost of $1900.00 down & flexible monthly payments beginning at $240.00 per month, then dropped it to $195.00 per month & eventuall went down to $165.00 per month & even said the initial membership fee of $12,900, 00 would automatically be lowered to $9,900.00, we were promised a free 3 days & 2 night vacation & would only have to pay taxes & food & entertainment costs to any 1 of 4 U S cities Las Vegas, Reno, Anaheim or Orlando, the woman also said their company owned cabins in the Smokey Mountains & part of our fee beyond the $9900.00 membership fee would be a $389.00 yearly activation fee guaranteeing accomadations at many 5 star hotels & resorts for $98.00 weekly for up to 6 people & that our memberships would be transferable to our children & their children & could also be used by anyone whom we gave our membership number to, so we decided to have another smoke & discuss this again hopefully all alone this time & we were alone for about 2 minutes & what do you know, here comes the pushy saleswoman again & claiming she had another group about to finish their presentation & that if we wanted the membership, we had to act now, which required giving them cash up front & signing a contract to give them money each month, i had told the woman several times i wanted to research this myself & she insisted her so called documentation was legit & we shouldn't worry, needless to say, remembering what the better business bureau man said on the local news "IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE" IT USUALLY IS, and we believe this to be the case with global vacation network & we left with their so called free gift which we will fill out the $40.00 gas gard form & travel voucher for the so called free vacation & see what happens & we will glady update this article & make all apologies if we're found to be wrong, but judging from other article we've seen here on this site, we fully believe we made the right decision in not giving them a dime, hopefully other people will save some headaches & money by reading this & not being sucked in, thank tou
