Not what we signed up for... Branson

Traveling & Tourism

When we were "coaxed" into buying the membership, we were told that the amount of money we put into the program would determine a certain number of "condo weeks" we were allowed to "purchase" per year. We put in something like $3,000 and were supposed to receive 10 condo weeks per year.initially, the $3,000 benchmark was supposed to get 2 or 3, but the increasing of this number was the poisoned carrot.

When I first went to use a condo week, I could not find anything of the sort on their website so I called them. I was forwarded around like a hot potato, left messages, called back to get passed around again was unable to find one person who had ever heard of a "condo week". We then tried to use their travel agent to just get us a hotel or condo for our vacation and ended up not using them because the exact same places were available for less money through other travel agencies. I brought this point up to the travel agent (who really was kind and helpful) and was never told of any price match guarantee (I am quoting this off a previous rebuttal).

Some time later, we were in Galveston and I saw an office for Grand Crowne Leisure. I stopped in and asked for assistance about the program and was again surprised that nobody had ever heard of a condo week. As well, the program had changed and now people were categorized into different membership levels.

Somehow these levels amounted to money you are supposed to be able to use for purchasing travel (and non-travel stuff as well). This really was no different since you were only allowed to apply a certain amount of this money to each condo.

As a result, a condo I was told would only cost me 399$ for a week (a discounted rate up to my maximum # of condo weeks) now cost 499$ or more. And now I have just received a mail saying that the program is changing again. As well, I have not been able to log into the website or find a number I can call to get support.

Needless to say, we are now the proud owners of God-only-knows-what and have to spend money every year because this is a "legal contract". What can a person do?
