An Open Letter to "CheapCaribbean.com" -

Dear Cheap Caribbean Rep -

Just a quick word or two about our trip to hot and stinky Puerto Vallarta. Our plane tickets actually worked for the ride there and back... Amazing.

However, where was the "Majestic Tours" airport transport? When I called them (at $0.89 per minute) they where located in NASSAU! How does that benefit us in Puerto Vallarta? This is just the first instance of classic "Bait and Switch" that we experienced getting off of the plane and throughout our stay in pungent Puerto Vallarta. Remember, Bait and Switch is ILLEGAL and that is why I am seeking legal assistance unless I receive some sort of refund.

From the Cheap Caribbean Web Site I have included a short list of amenities that are listed at Hola Puerto Vallarta (I WAS THRILLED TO SAY ADIOS!) and what was not included:

4 Restaurants: There was usually one buffet set around the pool and one in the Villia Room. The only restaurant there, some kind of Italian restaurant, was NEVER once opened during our week long stay.

Full-Service Health Spa: This was not offered to us by the Hotel.

Fitness Equipment: This was not offered to us by the Hotel.

2 Bars/Lounges: No... One small juice bar / beer bar in the loby, basically. The other one outside by the pool could only be accessed by waiters that would usually ignore or conveniently forget requests.

Activities/Tours Assistance: This office offered tours for a fee that was dominated by spending most of the time at various over-priced venders.

Aerobics: This was not offered to us by the Hotel.

Audio-Visual Equipment ($): This was not offered to us by the Hotel.

Health Club: This was not offered to us by the Hotel.

Multilingual Staff: This only occurred when it was convenient or when a generous tip was involved. Be careful tipping... When you tip too much, the next time they expect more for the most basic requests.

Poolside Bar Porter/Bellhop: This only occurred when it was convenient or when a generous tip was involved.

Room Service ($): This was not offered to us by the Hotel.

Swimming Pool: This pool (cesspool) was filthy, hazy, and containing particulate matter.

Yoga: This was not offered to us by the Hotel.

From what I witnessed first hand, the "resort" was dominated by actual Mexican tourists. The American tourists for the most part used no Spanish at all and made almost no attempts to do so. I feel that my constant attempts to use what Spanish I knew only annoyed the staff and brought on rudeness and poorer service. However, I didn't realize that until four or more days had elapsed.
