TCI Scam Class Action suit anyone? Ripoff

My husband and I went to a meeting at Horizon Travel in 2005. We really enjoy traveling and were enticed by the free cruise. We thought we'd go and listen, get the cruise, and leave. Now we feel SO stupid! They convinced us to buy into their "club", but I refused to pay the asking price. After negotiations, I agreed to pay around $2,000, thinking I was getting a deal. This does not include the yearly fee to maintain your membership. We have booked some trips through them, however, they stated the hotels we stay in will charge us the full amount, and they would refund money to us in the form of a check. I have waited up to 9 months on checks in the past, and only received those after calling daily, speaking with managers, etc. We feel like we wasted a LOT of money when we could have booked trips online ourselves for equal prices they offer. It is almost impossible to get these people to book a trip for you—you have to call 5-10 times to have one trip booked, and you can't do it yourself online.

Horizon Travel closed in Knoxville in the Summer of after they sold to us in the Fall of 2005. We have asked for our money back, but they refuse. Now, we don't know what we can do.By the way, they closed after being put on the news multiple times, AFTER we bought in, as being a scam, and the local TV stations sent crews to the office. It's all a lie, but I need help, because I feel like I have no option. There are people throughout Knoxville who were scammed by this company, but because they skipped town, we can't protest outside their location. Suggestions?
