In august while visiting bransom mo for the first time my husband & i was offered an opportunityt to attend a presentation at roark to learn about different ways of traveling for less.

The presentation sounded legitimate and there was a lot of demmostrations put on a board to show the savings one could get by joining the club.in fact, the catch was that a couple could go to alasks on a 7 day fishing trip for $1400 a $2400.00 savings.

Since this was my husband's life long dream to go there on a fishing trip we decided to try it.in addition there were statements and charts listing the following savings for various travel: 14 days cruise to hawaii for two $1,500.00 savings of 1,500.00.12 day in australia @ 60% off. We were given a paper that supposedly would allow me & my husband to go on a 3 days salmon fishing with 3 nights lodging for $799.00 per person saving a total of $1,000.00 per person.

This was supposed to be on swifty's alaskan asventures L.L.C boat. When we attempted to book a cruise to alaska the price was much higher with r0ark than with any other cruise ship we contacted.

Roark tried to bribe us into signing a release if he gave us $600.00 off the alaskan cruise they attempted to book for a much higher price than we were willing to pay based on the cost quoted by all the cruise ships we spoke to while trying to book this cruise. There was also supposed to be unlimited use of the alleged "hot weeks" if you could trave on short notice.in addition to the above roark was supposed ot help us sell our timeshare in florida, interesting enouhg i have never to this day been able to talk to the bogus resort condo resales person even though i left several messages over the past 2 years as of friday marks 2 years ago since we were duped into this fruadulent purchase.

We had requested our money back shortly after returning home on 8/9/04, we contact mo's bbb, the mo. Attorney general's office and both sears and citibank for help. To date i am still trying to get my money back becasue of all the deception and lies told by roark employees. The most recent event is a letter from attorney general jay nixon where lingell johnson offered to give me hal of the $4,700.00 if i sign a paper releasing them from all other claims.

My husband passed away still waiting to realize this dream and i am still fighting to get our money back becasue we have gotten no benefits whatsoever from this ripoff investment.

Lingell has had a very nasty indignent attitude and has vicky doing his dirty work. This company's criminal ways needs to be exposed to the world so no one else will get bitten by their decptive bogus lies.

They also have an illlegal clause that states: all sales are final, the sstate of mo has a cooling off period like most ohter states. One can not be expected to have read small print imbedded while on vacation and the cooling off periods should be enforced against this company as well as other ripoff companies.

The bbb, ag's office and all the others are for the big businesses not us little people even though we keep the system afloat. Please help me get my $4,700 back as i am on a fixed income, widowed and disabled. Thank so much for your time. I have one other complaint that i am also trying to get my credit card company to refund my money. I will write it as soon as this is one is completed
