Don't be another consumer ripoff by Holiday Travel of America

I too attended a sales presentation and was give the now well-known useless promotional cruise certificate, from Holiday Travel of America (HTOA). I paid my $246.96 gave them my two dates of travel, 1 year in advance.

I was not contacted within 45 days of my first travel date. So since I had already requested time off of work for the first & second date, I called to verified that my second date would be booked.

A very polite person called and left a message on my cell phone stating that my first date was not available and they were working on my second date. He reminded me I would be notified 45 days prior to me second travel date.

Well, it is now less than 45 days from my second travel date, and no notification no phone calls. So I contact HTOA to be told that my second date was not available! I was told that they were working on trying to get me a date five months from now in mid September. I was told that in the fine print it states subject to availably, then why do they require two travel dates. Why don't they honestly tell you we will notify you when we can get your trip booked?

Of course by now I'm thinking you have got to be kidding, I send you my money and dates 1 year ago. You cannot get the dates I requested, and cannot guarantee that you can even get me a booking in September. I went on line and at least 3 different travel company's (Orbitz, Yahoo Travel, and Carnival) have rooms both dates I request today. So why is it HTOA cannot get me a room?

My certificate states I have to take my trip within one year, that one year will be up in July. How can they repeatedly do the same thing to so many people? Please beware HTOA is a rip off! They lye to you and keep putting you off until they hope you will go away.
