Sundance Vacations
Ambushed like caged birds

Traveling & Tourism

In July my best friend Leonard and I were invited to Sundance Vacations, Inc.in King of Prussia, PA. When we arrived it seemed pretty cool and the atmosphere was very professional. We informed the receptionist that we had an appointment to find more information about Sundance.

A few minutes later we were taken in a room with about 10 other people, we were given the history and a brief summary of what the program was about. Everything still seem good to go! Than the back door to the conference room opened, loud music and a party like mood came through.

A young man approached Leonard and me to bring us to the party, by this time I was ready to dance to the music. After walking through the door, I saw several people throwing beach balls and taking pictures. This made me feel even more excited about the PARTY. The same young man took us to a very small table that had vacation pamphlets of places that I've always wanted to visit. This made me very interested.

This is when all the real talk started; the young man did a very good job explaining what we should expect and how much fun we would have. We went over the package information and everything sounded GOOD, along with the loud music, ball throwing and picture taking. Now, it's time for us to say yes or no to this deal, so feeling festive we said YES.

In a matter of minutes the young man was back with a packet of paper (15-20 pages). The gentleman said he wanted us to answer some questions and for us to put our initials on the line beside the questions, so I stated to read the first question and put my initials, when he took the pen out of my hand and told me that he would read the question and for me to sign. I said okay, than he continued to read very quickly as I signed.

At the end of him reading the information, another man came to the table and congratulated us and signed the paper. This man left and the young man came back to bring us the packet and to take the check that I gave as a down payment. He took a picture of us and we were sent through another set of doors to the lobby.

We left and went home to read the 15-20 pages of exciting vacations opportunity information, to only find several disappointing points (3 of the most important):

1. The one and only black out period is the one and only week the whole family has off.

2.in order to upgrade to a larger unit it would be an additional $30 per day.

3. If we choose and all inclusive resort we will have to pay additional money.

We called almost immediately after reading this to let them know that we made a very quick and non thoughtful decision, when Judy Romanelli told us that we could not get out of the program, and that if we did we would be sent to collections. I felt ambushed!

I would appreciate it if Sundance Vacations, Inc. Could be sent to counsel and/or litigation to be investigated for consumer Freud and complaints. Thank you
