Ripoff

I got a call from Flordia Passport and like most of you agreed to look at the free trial. I was told that if I chose not to continue I could cancel and not pay the start up fee. I got the information package on Sept 12 and it said that the bill date was Sept 13. When I called to cancel I got an automated service which told me it was canceled.

A few days later we discovered $149.00 taken from our account from a check number way higher than what we were on. I called during working hours and was unable to reach anyone. It was just an automated system asking for my phone number. When I punched it in all that was said was that they had no record of my number. I went to the website and wrote an email to the company only to have it sent back to me saying that the email address did not exsist.

I called the BBB to find out that Florida Passport has a bad standing with them. 436 complaints in the last 36 months. When I called the number the package had for you to make travel reservations they told me that they do not deal with them and they have been using their number for over 2 months.

I filed a report with the BBB and DOAACS. I decided to do some research on the computer and found this site. While I was reading I saw someone mentioned hitting # 2 times and getting a person. Well it worked (THANK YOU THANK YOU). I pretty much told them what I thought of them and said I wanted my money back in a reasonable amount of time and no more money taken out by anyone. I told them if they did I was gonna sue their butt off and they would owe me alot more than 149.00.

I was told that I would be getting a refund soon. I also did ask if I was going to be one of the hundreds that would still be waiting for their money months later and told them about the reports I filed and what BBB said about them.in addition I read a few posts to them from this site. I am hoping I scared them enough to get my money back soon.

I encourage all who have had problems to file a complaint with the BBB and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. I just cant believe this happened. I never thought this would happen to me. I am always so careful.
