Ripoff paid for a vacation package, paid for included items again on vacation

I purchased a 14 day/4 vacation option package from FLA Enterprises. I mailed in my reservation dates and locations. Had to follow up with a telephone call to receive information and confirmation on my travel dates. Was asked to send payment for what was called: Port Charges, Custom fees, hotel fees, gratuity fees and other related reservation and service charges.

I received confirmation numbers on all parts of the vacation in faxes from Expert Holidays. Vacation was to include 3 day/2 night stay in Ft. Lauderdale and 4 day/3 night Bahama Cruise and Stay in Freeport, GB. The cruise and all hotels were included in the package.

When we arrived in Port Everglades and tried to board the ship, we were informed that the cruise had never been paid for by the company and if we wanted to travel we would have to pay for the cruise at that time. We paid for the cruise and when we reached our resort destination, the hotel charged us $15.00/person/day for taxes and other related fees. They said the company should not have collected any of that ahead of time because it is always paid at check in directly to the hotels.

We got caught in the hurricane, Katrina, and were unable to return to the US for 2 additional days. When I called the hotel in Ft. Lauderdale to make sure we were able to stay there when we returned since we were unable to get there at our original check in date, they said no, if we were a no show on the original day of check in the entire reservation would be cancelled and we would have to make another one and pay for it, which would be full price. We had to stay in another hotel and pay for it when we returned to Ft. Lauderdale.

We ended up paying over $2000 in addition to the $452.00 we spent on the original package because we were charged for the things that were to be included in the package and all the fees they collected during the stay of our vacation. I have tried to call them and fax information to them, but they have made no attempt to resolve this matter.

I have all my receipts for everything we paid for and have requested a total refund, including the price of the package that still contains 3 additional vacations that are supposedly prepaid by the company. Any type of vacation offers like this are fraud and many complaints have been filed with Attorney General's offices, FTC and other agencies. Stay away from all these offers.
