ATT replacemen​t phone (RMA) Lost in the Mail

I received my alternative phone, moved my items to the brand new phone, place my previous phone within the furnished surround, place the envelop within the unique cardboard container, attached the RMA tag within the previous tag and decreased it within the outgoing mail in my own community as directed. I suppose our postoffice doesn’t check brands and so I am not able to monitor the cargo also it presumably hasn’t been obtained 14 days later. I called in to the call-center plus they explained originally that it might have now been taken from my mail and therefore I'm responsible. I fixed her viewpoint for the reason that the container was fallen right into a blue USPS mail. She subsequently stated that since I have slipped it right into a mail in the place of getting it to some post office and setting it up scanned and requesting and spending money on shipping verification (which I wouldn’t have oriented easily understood what type of difficulty I'd maintain easily didn’t do this) they'd no evidence and I'd be billed $450 to get a substitute phone regardless.
