My incident with LVAC was dated all the way to 8/23. I signed their contract to join their club and use their facilities. After an injury, I was unable to use the gym, so I decided to cancel it. Their customer "service" reps refused that I cancel my membership and told me I had to pay $50 to cancel it. I argued with them that I wouldn't be able to use it so why would I keep paying for something I'm not using. Since I was bound by the contract, there was nothing I could but stop payment.
The threatened to send me to collections if I refused to pay. I lost my job later that year and was unable to pay anymore. Not only was I sent to collections, I was slapped with interest on top of what I owed. I didn't receive any correspondence, letter, phone call, etc. They told me over the phone that it was my responsibility to notify the club of any addresses. I wanted to take them to court but lawyer fees are so expensive. And that's when a friend introduced me to LegalShield.
LegalShield is a company that has a network of lawyers to help in situations like this. Thank God they're helping me do so! I highly suggest not trying to win them over without a lawyer! Trust me! Watch this video about their services. I saw the same exact movie and thought of LVAC: http://www.pplonlinetools.com/video.php? Uid=k2igm24ic0ue24e0Good luck to everyone!
