My 2 boys are former students of Mr. Silver's Martial Arts program. I discontnued their membership, however, Mr. Silver continued to deduct payments from my bank account. The total was $777.00. I contacted Mr. Silver, who, via email, stated he owed the money back to me. He said he could only afford $100.00 monthly payments. I told Mr. Silver that there is no guarantee that a business would still be running, in this economy, for the amount of time it would take to pay it off. I made a claim thru my bank, which Mr. Silver declined the refund. My bank initially temporarily refunded the money. Once Mr. Silver denied the refund, the $777.00 was again taken out of my account. I sent emails and made several phone calls to Mr. Silver, who still stated, in writing, that he owed the money. Again, he said he could only make $100.00 payments. I reluctanty accepted the 1st payment. When I tried to contact him for the second payment, I found out that Mr. Silver had sold his client list to another Martial Arts instructor. Medford Martial Arts no longer exists. This was 3 weeks after he made the 1st $100.00 payment. He knew, when he made that payment, that he was selling the business. At this point, i do believe he split town.
I have had to chase him for this money, although he vehemently claimed that he was a "MAN OF HIS WORD". This turned out to be total bull. I recovered $300.00. He still owes a balance of $477.00. He refuses to answer my emails, and was too much of a coward to ever call me, or give me a number to reach him.
BEWARE... If this man opens another Martial Arts facility, he will rip you off. He is a "Buy a belt" type of instructor. This is actually part of the reason I took my kids out of his class. He seemed to be so nice at first... Then the true Mr. Silver came out. I do believe he has since moved and have now had to hire a private investigator to find him. I am going full force after Mr. Silver for Theft By Deception and to recover the money he owes. I hope he ends up in jail, as I doubt that I am the only person he has ripped off. This is not an individual you would want teaching discipline, moral values or anything else to your children. If anyone knows WHERE HE IS... Please let me know.
