The Ivins Group/Executive Sports
Steel Town Promotions and many many others when it sounds too good to be true, it ALWAYS is

I emailed my resumee to 2 companies advertising entry level sports ad executive positions, posted on craigslist, with very little company information or job description. Considering i have no college degree or any job related experience i assumed id never hear back from either of them, but figured it may be one of those go get me my double mocha latte type of "entry level" postions so id give it shot anyways, money is money... Well i got a phone call from both companies, one claiming to be steel town promotions, on bigelow blvd in bloomfield area, and the other, executive sports, in monroeville. Both made it sound like i had a glowing resumee and work experience and wanted to interview me right away, and requested i arrive in professional business attire. Ok so far, but still no real job overview or description in any way, and like any person interested in a job, i wanted to prepare myself for the interview and gear what i would say towards the job. Im not new to the hiring process by any means, so all this eagerness to interview me for some job i didnt seem to be qualified for in the least bit started to make me question the legitity of them, thinking maybe its one of those weird pyramid schemes or even one of those credit card/identity theft scams, where you go interview, give them all your info, get told theyre looking for more qualified people, and a week later some asshole is driving a sports car financed with what was your good credit... So i decide to check out their so called website's, in which i found as most others have mentioned, a bunch of bullshit relating to their ties to large accounts and industry leading advertising blah blah blah, no mention of who they represent, or even what they really do, infact id say 90% of the website's were employment oppurtunities and how to apply. Luckily for me, and hopefully others, i stumbled across this website before going in for interviews at either place. So when searching on craigslist or any job posting website keep an eye out for these bogus ads and remember, when it sounds too good to be true, IT IS
