Brian Cimins This company is a disgrace to the martial arts world!

This company offers a grappling competition around the US constantly moving their location. I enrolled my nephew to one of their competitions in Orlando, FL, and to make sure there was no problems I paid the enrollment fee 2 weeks in advance. On their website the encourage you to register early and they offer a $20 off your registration fee as motivation to do so. Competitors are also supposed to receive a free shirt from the event. When we arrived in Orlando we went to weight my nephew to make sure he made weight for his division, only to find out that he was never registered for the event. On the application that we had sent in it specifically said $50 for teens for 1 division. According to their representative that was not so. Registration was now $100. Not to lose the trip and disapoint my nephew I paid $100 for his registration again, and never even got the so called $20 off. The next day for the competition we got there early and looked to see who my nephew would be grappling with. To our surprise his name was nowhere to be found. When I went to complaint I had to get in a line of furious instructors and parents who were having the very same problem.instead of taking care of the situation the promoter, Brian Cimins, was only interested in starting his so called competitions. They started to call kids to grapple without any instructor nor parent around. Many kids were heart broken because they fought against other kids that were on a higher division, or weight causing them to lose and be disqualified. My nephew then aproached me saying that he had just fought some kid and lost. When I confronted the official he said that the Mr. Cimins had given them orders to get all the kids going to get those fights out of the way. Not once did Mr. Cimins take these kids feelings in consideration. They were simply thrown into the matt without any supervision of a parent or instructor. When my nephew told the official that he was going to get me or his professor, he was told to get on the matt or be disqualified. Many kids ended up crying, parents ended up furious, and the whole thing was a mess. Simply because Mr. Cimins was more interested in squeezing all the money that he could up untill the last minute. I myself trained in the past and have competed in many competitions before, and can trully say that Grapplers Quest is a disgrace to the martial arts world. They do not honor any of the things they promisse. All I can say is lesson learned and I will be calling my attorney to see if there is any way for me to get the money I spent back.
