48 day run-around without refund!

On 9/5/09 I placed an order for 6 knives for my collection that cost $281.00. Approximately 1 week later after not getting a ship date or an order update, I called The Blade Shop customer service and was told that the items were not in stock and that the estimated delivery was going to be over a month. I canceled the order on 9/13/09 and was told the refund would go back to my account in 5-7 business days. When 2 weeks had past I called customer service and was told that it would clear within the next 3 days. On 10/6/09 I called again and was told that it was a computer thing and that the check was in the mail. I contacted my bank and contested the charge on the same day. On 10/25/09 I received a note from my bank stating that the Blade shop did not dispute my claim and that they would refund my the money. I called on the 28th and was told that a manager would have to handle the problem and that he would call me back later in the day. Not being called back I contacted them again and was told that the manager was very busy and that he was getting to call backs on this day. On 11/2/09 after never being called I was finally patched through to the manager Will Bhagnon and was told that because I initiated a bank investigation that it was my banks responsibility to refund me the money. I told Mr. Bhagnon that my bank stated that the Merchant would refund the money he told me that that is not how the process works. After apoximately 5 minutes of discussion of why he could not refund my money he finally agreed to contact the bank himself and that he would then follow up with me via phone. I hung up and contacted my bank and after being on hold for over 12 minutes I was told that the Blade Shop was responsible for the refund but because they had not taken the appropriate action that she would go ahead and credit my account but that $281 would be in a hold status for 45 days to ensure the company had a chance to dispute the refund. As of 4:30pm on 11/02/09 Mr Bhagnon has not followed up with me nor do I expect him to. My overall experience with this company has been horrendous. If the company would have communicated with me on their lack of stock of the merchandise I probably would not have placed the order in the first place. I have never had such a problem with getting a refund and their lack of concern and failure to contact me to rectify the problem is totally unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy and I hope to prevent this from happening to others. Thank you for help in this matter. Sincerely...
