They took my money. No training. Did not supply all products. Would not return money

Outdoor Connection in Burlington Kansas is not a company that you want to do business with. They franchise out to "Agents" who sell hunting and fishing trips. They will tell you anything they have to to get your money but fail to provide the products, training and support.

I purchased my franchise for $12,900.00 and after 7 months I had not received my training, materials, and support that they said they would provide in the Franchise Disclosure Document. They also make you believe that you can make good money selling their trips.

Training: They would schedule training sessions and then cancell them at the last minute. (I am still holding airline tickets that I can get my money back for) First it was to be in October 08, then it was December 08, then it was March, then it was April. They do not deliver what they should or what they promise. Also, in the Franchise Disclosure Document they tell you that you cannot open your business until you complete the mandatory training. Well, if they do not train you, you cannot start your business. Show me a new business that can set idle for 7 months and survive.

Promotion Materials: They send the wrong stuff or do not send it at all. They sent the wrong shirts, did not give me the proper number of the hats that I was to receive, They did not send brochures until I called them twice to send them.

Support: What a joke. Before I paid for my franchise I was told that, "The support staff was great." After I paid them, the same person told me that the "Office staff does not do a very good job."

Opportunity: Very little here! They make it look like they have all these locations to choose from but what they do not tell you in advance is that there are only a few trips available at each location every year. As a result they have over 120 agents competing for just a few spots to sell. When they send out their "Franchise of the month" announcement, you can do the math and see that the top performer for the month may make $200 that month. They said that you should be able to get your initial investment back in the first year. No way.

Do not waste your money with Outdoor Connection from Burlington Kansas.
