I too have had an awful experience

Sports

I too have been a victim of this selling scam. I have been in retail for many years and have sat through many time-share spills as well, and knew exactly what to expect. What I did not expect was having the wool pulled over my eyes. Yes, they are nice people at the facility. Yes they did offer us the "freebies". What was not exactly explained to us was that we were opening two credit cards to become members. Never did our sales rep explain that in his pitch. I had just consolidated all my credit cards to clean up my credit and had I known that is what I was doing, I would have NEVER done it. It was not until a month later that I recieved the bills from GE and Wells Fargo (which later on they no longer did business with and could not help us) that I realized we were had. We did recieve the custom fitted golf clubs. My husband however hated his set. He was already a golfer and I was not. It was like trying to re-learn his swing all over again. We signed up for this membership with the hopes of this bringing us together more and spending time on something we both would love.
At that time, we were engaged and not yet married. So of course, KIS agreed to no payments and interest for a year and then we were to "roll our accounts over" to a permanent locked in interest rate of no more than 9%.in addition, after the caos of our wedding (and I mean caos - everything went wrong that possibly could and left us $3,000 more in debt than planned) when I tried to "roll over the accounts" they no longer were working with Wells Fargo. So they could not do anything for us. It was left at 23%!!! Yes, I know, that's outrageaous! By this time, it was 9 months since we had signed up and I had spent many days on the phone trying to communicate with the general manager of the Opry Mills location and then the Regional Manager (supposedly - I am really not sure what his position was and he had just been hired). Weeks went by without a phone call in response to my request and when I finally called and caught the "regional" in his office, he had not even pulled our file from the academy and looked at it like he promised. I had to re-tell him the whole thing all over again.
Now I realize, I signed a binding contract. However, I was not explained everything, I was given freebies that were not actually freebies (who really cares), I could not roll over the account as promised, and the whole bit about travel was a rip-off. My husband and I could book vaca's on sam's club cheaper than that and did for our honeymoon.
I am now in dispute with Wells Fargo and GE Money. Since KIS has filed for bankruptcy, I do not feel it is fair to pay for services I am no longer able to use and frankly could not ever afford. I think it only serves them right since they have such shoty busines practices. I do hope that everyone involved in the scam can come out with some sense of relief. Good Luck!
