Cancelled camp, then failed to refund payment

I also enrolled my son in camp for Operation Eagle Claw for the summer 2008 session. After submitting full payment, I received a voice mail in mid-June stating that camp was canceled for the summer and that they would keep me posted on the next steps. That was the last I ever heard from the camp or the Dentons.

Subsequently, the voice mail that used to work stopped working. There were never responses to earlier voice mails that I was able to leave. None of my emails have been responded to. And, recently, I sent a letter to the Ft. Thomas P.O. Box and it was returned about a week ago, marked "return to sender — unclaimed — unable to forward".interestingly, the phone still rings (though is never answered and no voice mail is activated), the email doesn't bounce, and the Web site is active (and in fact, was totally redesigned shortly before these issues arose).

In light of being unable to contact the Dentons, I just filed a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General's Office. The on-line form is available at:

This has been very frustrating and disappointing, especially since the camp had just earned accreditation by the American Campers Association just last year.

I sincerely hope the Arizona Attorney General's Office will receive enough formal complaints that local follow-up will be conducted. Regardless of what misfortunes may have led to this, there is no excuse for the way we customers have been dealt with.
