Ripoff

On 11th of October I was contacted by this company about magazines I was owed through my own personal bank. I stated that I hadn't recieved anything so they offered me a service on the magazines for 4 months for 66.32.

I called back later the same day, a litte iffy about the company, and they offered me a lower payment of 49.74 for 3 months. I agreed. They took my information and stated that they wouldn't charge my debit card until after I recieved the magazines.

I checked my bank minutes later and they charged my debit card. I was upset but I figured I'd get the magazines within the next 2 weeks since they stated that I would.

On 4th of November, they called again wanting to know how my services was going and I told them that I hadn't recieved any magazines yet and they that I should receive my magazines within the next week or so. Then they asked for my credit card number.

They already had my first 4 digits and I gave them the rest. I thought immediately that that was strange since they already had my debit card number through my bank which they said they worked through.

I immediately went on the internet to look up the company and came to this site, seeing the many complaints. So I called back to cancel my subscription since they said I could at anytime and I've been told than I can't cancel unless I pay a settlement fee of 99 dollars.

I can't afford that payment at this time because I have a crisis that involves paying a lot of money and I can't afford this services. But I do not want to pay 99 dollars to cancel since they said I could cancel at anytime.

I've called back again this evening and left a voice message stating that I wish to cancel my subscription again and that I wish to speak to the owner in order to settle this in a civilized way.

I'm unemployed but my wife is in graduate school so money is very tight and as I've stated I have a crisis that involves payment of a lot of money and any charges by this company would put that into jeopardy. I need some advice on how to get out of this mess.
