Steven arliss fraud disbarred

I encountered "Steven Arliss" when I was searching for a job after passing the Bar. He found me on craigslist (i was desperate) and invited me in for a working interview. I attempted to search the California State Bar's website for him prior to going to the interview but I was unable to find him. While working, I discovered old paperwork which had his real name, "Stephen R. Liss" and resolved to look him up when I got home.

After about 5 hours of organization, I left and he essentially gave me the job without any formality saying that he'd be able to help me with my legal career. I searched him when I got home and discovered all the complaints, disbarment, and the criminal allegations.

... I'm filing this here now because Mr. Liss has demonstrated that he hasn't learned his lesson and because the State Bar told me that he was no longer within their sanctioning program. He is choosing to use a different (slightly) name but is still doing the same old stuff. What I'm really worried about is the fact that he was attempting to establish a surrogacy agency when I was there. It is a prime position to take advantage of desperate, young women and families.

I don't know if he is dangerous but I suggest you avoid him.
