Ripoff company that scams people

I signed up with the Bigredwire long distance service through their web site (www.bigredwire.com) on 9-18-04 for my home phone line. I read the company policies clearly before and there was no cancellation fee and you could cancel at any time. There also was no monthly service fee, members would only be billed on their phone calls they had made.

After realizing using my $. 02 a minute long distance phone card would be much cheaper than using Bigredwire's long distance service, I notified Bigredwire via their two personal representatives (Jack and Mary Mamet) who had e-mailed me after I signed up for service via e-mails that I was canceling my long distance service request on 9-20. Bigredwire had never actually become my long distance provider since it takes a week or so for it to become effective, especially since my request was sent 36 hours after I initially signed up for it.

After a few e-mails from Jack and Mary trying to get me to stay with the company, I made clearly each time I wanted my long distance service canceled. So they finally agreed that it would be canceled. I notified my local phone service that I wanted my long distance service to be no one, since I would now be using my phone card.

I was appalled when I had found out that this unethical scam of a company known as Bigredwire had changed my local phone service to them. So this company needs to be shut down because of their lousy practice of slamming people's phone lines. I have filed a Better Business Bureau report with them and hope this letter will get the word out about what a sorry scam this company is.
