Taking money monthly from people who are unknowingly signed up

Recently I decided to take a look at my boyfriends bank statement which I normally allow him to take care of. I notice a charge for $16.99 from a company along with a phone number. I call the number and I am told that we have been signed up for this service since last year... Almost a full year.

I spoke to the representative who says "we don't want to lose you as a customer". I said I never signed up for your service in the first place so please remove me. The woman named "Sarah" who obviously did not speak proper english and was barely able to carry on a conversation says she will cancel my account with the company.

Then Sarah gives me a different number where I can fax a request to have all of the money that has been taken returned back to the bank account. I sent the fax and I am now waiting to hear back from this company. We never agreed to anything with this company and had we then they would have record of us singing in on their website or even using their discounts which we never knew existed therefore we never used. This company is awful and I can only imagine how many people are being ripped off by this company without knowledge of it.

The only thing I can think of is back in December of last year I placed an online order with wwe online. It said I had to call a number to verify my order, which I did... The representative then tried selling me a discount for $1.. I declined knowing that giving them permission to take $1 was the same as giving them permission to take whatever else they wanted. Obviously they decided they needed to make some more sales and signed me up anyways... I am furious as this company caused many problems with the bank account.
