Kohl's had a pretty wide variety of items we wanted and we were really happy we chose to register there... Until we got the gifts. There were two specific incidences that are behind our suggestion to NEVER register at Kohl's. 1) We received a gift in the mail that was incorrect. The gift (according to the enclosed gift receipt) was 1 towel, 2 hand towels and 1 washcloth SHORT. I took the package to the store and they said I would have to contact their headquarters... They don't fix those errors in-store. Headquarters told me that they couldn't help either. I would need to contact the person who made the purchase and they would have to report the error, cancel the order, return the items and REORDER our gift. Not wanting to inconvenience the gifter I just let it go. 2) I went to return a large amount of duplicate gift items to the store. Most of these gifts didn't come with gift receipts but Kohl's usually prints the price right on the item so you can see how much it was. (Not necessarily how much our guests paid for it, according to the store associate, but how much it originally cost.) I was getting $3-4 for items that would regularly sell for $15 and $15 for items that were originally $40-50 BECAUSE at some point that item had been on sale since I opened my registry. If I had purchased the same item that day I would have paid much more than I was about to receive. I understand this principle but none-the-less was furious! I ended up keeping most of the items to re-gift because I felt like they were worth more to me that way. And I felt like I was being ripped off. Now... They do offer 15% off all of the items remaining on your registry BUT Kohl's homeware items are often (but not always) higher priced than Bed, Bath and Beyond anyhow AND BBB gives you 20% in the end. The good news is... Any and all store credit we did receive from Kohl's can be used towards clothes... Which is something BBB can't offer.
