Ripoff property hostage

I hired Atlantic Moving Inc and their agent Flux Transportation Inc to ship my household goods, from CA to NJ. We had agreed on a total of $1,200 which it has been paid in full and then on the day that we were to receive our personal belongings we got a phone call from the truck driver stating that we had to pay an extra $4,300. I asked the person that runs the truck company for all the information of his company and himself. He gave something totally different information from what is stated on a letter that was sent to me from the company and from the FMCSA. Also on the letter it states that he will sell my stuff if I don't pay in full now it is $6,000 plus.in that shipment I have items that have sentimental value, that is all my daughter's stuff that was given to her by her grandparents in Japan.
