They know the truth but don't care but harass and won't remove it from my credit

I received letter from someone saying that I owe 309 to some traffic court in Arizona. I called them and I provided my basic information like DOB/SSN etc to the person. I thought I have gave enough information saying that they have a wrong person and they will leave me alone. But it was the other way around. They used the information given by me and said they are giving it to collection. I guess they still didn't have enough information from me. They kept sending me letters and I kept calling and saying that stop it. Eventually I guess in 2012 they reported it on my credit report.

I disputed it and found that it is some sort of traffic ticket. I never went to Arizona and there is no way I could be that person. I called the court and gave them details. The details don't match. I told the same to LDC collect but they don't care. They need money and need from me. I was feeling like blackmailing. I am trying to find my options and figured that there are not many I have. I talked to my credit reporting agency and they said I need to work with the collection agency. Complete rippoff
