Scam alert for pet adoption organization

I inquired about adopting a pup from Adoptalab.org on Sept. 15. They sent me a general email back stating that "they have received my inquiry and will get back to me when a dog becomes available to suit my needs". What the heck does that mean? I clearly inquired about a specific dachshund pup I was interested in and that is how they reply?

Well, just to let you know, today is Sept. 22 and I have yet to hear back from them. I am still waiting. I don't understand this. Millions of dogs need to be adopted and many people like myself are willing to adopt a pet knowing they are in need of a good home.

Why wouldn't this company want to oblige by wanting to get rid of their adopted animals to good homes? I don't understand this at all. I am very upset about the entire issue. I never thought it was going to be so hard to adopt a pet. I am a big advocate on adopting an animal and this is just not fair to me or the animals in need of adoption.
