Ripoff made easy by Marc S Stern Attorney at Law Wash State ba

Mr Stern was supposed to be a respected attorney the field
of Bankruptcy proceedings. I called and made an appointment
to see Mr. Stern after an injury had put me out of work and scrambling to reorginize my life. Countless hours had been put
in by myself in trying to get my home ready for sale before
I was to lose it to foreclosure, which was a very scarey
thing to deal with.

I was very nervous and needed to try and find some security in the services Mr Stern offered. I looked past the 1st encounter with him as he shoved $500.00 retaining money inot his pocket and didn't offer a reciept which I had to ask for and was provided in the form a buiness card with 500 recieved on it from him that day from me.

This should have sent up red flags galore but in the next few days reasured me that
he would do a good job for my wife and I and young son.
He quoted a standard price of $1900.00 after explaining what my circumstances were.

In the end for a standard filing, he milked me and my family out of nearly $7000.00 and left behind some very bad memories and many difficult times in dealing with him and his so called paralegal. I can say this with all honesty
that there was not one meeting beyond the intitial meeting that was productive or made any sense, and half the time I found myself correcting or running down information becasue of his lack of interestin my caes besides billing me for meeting that didnt take place or for meetings that were a total waste of my time as he whined about being too busy and had not had the time to attend to the details of my case.

His office was sloppy, his appearence matched his office and his computer never seemed to work properly. This was a lagitimate Lawyer? I was very much introuble here as he billed through the trustie of the court for time spent on my case that did not take place. As an example
and what I now believe to be normal paratice from him and his stooge in the front office, he asked that multible reports be provided to his office concerning details about insurance payments requested by my Mortgage company be provided and this as it turned out served a few purposes that benefited only him and his pocket.

I was given very little information, when I asked the Judge in my case to stop payments to him the Judge reacted in his favor and commented that maybe "I" wasn't able to comprehend the details!

It was at the very least a very frustrating and agrivating proccess to deal with. Mr Stern only had to stand before him and lift a stack of paper work and say
"Your Honer as you can see here I have had much to look over in this case"...

If I had another lawyer present during this session with the court I believe he could have been exposed as a ripoff as he had so earned to this point.in summary he stalled and hemmed and hawed and overcharged me to the tune of $5000.00 and got away with it becasue he knew I certainly could not afford to bring in another lawyer to help in this battle. If you look at the whole deal I went through, It could be surmised that all the hard work I put into every inch of restoring my home and the back breaking work was consumed by the biggest ripoff artist I have ever encountered both personally and second hand in mu life time.

I would strongly erge anyone considering dealing with this Lawyer and the judge who condoned and motivated this jackass to stay far away from his pratices and the lady in his office who only complained to me how she was underpaid and how she actually got wrapped up in his unsavory and unethical business - afforded to him by the State of Washington. Buyer beware. He's a thief
