Ripoff dishonest scam over charge

This magazine company called me at home and offered me a good price on several magazine. The sale clerk quoted to me that no money would be charge to my account, a bill would be sent to me every month. My credit card account number was only to verify that my account existed. I recieved a letter with a bill of $66.32 a month of 16 payments to be taken out of my account. I did not agree to this. I have been trying to call the 1 800 number but unable to get through. I just wanted to warn everyone about this magazine scam. I will never give my account number over the telephone again.
