Chadwicks has my return & money - Clothing

I returned a few items to Chadwicks within 2 weeks of my receipt. I got a letter stating that it was returned to them after 30 days—which is false—stating that I would receive a merchandise credit instead of the money I am rightfully owed back on my credit card. I called them & was told I would be directed to a supervisor. I was "disconnected". I called again & was told that I had to email them because they are in bankruptcy. I did that—twice—without any response. I finally decided to just use the merchandise credit. When I enter the credit number it says it's invalid. They have my return plus my money. If a person did this, they would be called a thief.
