John Whitehouse Recruiter or Brain Cancer Researcher?

I applied for an Executive Assistant position on Craigslist recently. The recruiter, John Whitehouse, Harper and Associates, 2848 Lenox Rd., Atlanta, made it sound interesting. It certainly was a job I could do and have done.

In his response to my resume, however, he stated that he was a cell phone/brain cancer researcher from the University of Sheffield and would be in Atlanta for four months while he conducted his research He would need an assistant to handle correspondence, meetings, phone calls, etc.

In his words, " Assistant may be asked to visit me twice a week for briefing, communication will be over the phone and online." He stated he was currently in Ontario, Canada and would like the arrangements to be made prior to his arrival.

Suspicious because of the discrepancies, I Googled the address and found it to be a corner of a residential block. The company, "Harper and Associates" is a personal injury litigation firm in Atlanta. This was not my first scam attempt disguised as a job offer. I am just at the end of my rope with the dishonesty. I think I'll report the others as well. This has been cathartic.
