We just purchased 2 boy ragdolls from her. I'm very worried! We lost one at 3 yrs of age from hcm 6 yrs ago. I'm so sorry and know exactly how you feel. I was told the same thing. Our kittens are 8 weeks and very small especially one. Is she doing anything about this?

Who were the parents of your sweet kitty? Was it a male? I've lost one also from HCM at age 3! It's devastating

My Leo was a male kitty. His parents were Butter and Louis from Wisconsin. Dr. Jen says that she doesn't have either one of them any more. Dr. Jen offered me 1/2 off of a kitten or a free adult (since he died after his 12 month warrante) but I decided not to get another cat from her. I would get your kittens genetically tested for the identified gene that causes the HCM. (MYBPC3) I sent a blood sample to the north Carolina genetics lab to get Leo's blood tested. Http://www.cvm. Ncsu. Edu/vhc/csds/vcgl/index.html If his blood comes back / I will be asking for my money back. I have heard from others that she has had legal trouble regarding her cats as well. To be a veterinarian and breeder and assure a customer that the genetic test is "worthless" is morally and ethically wrong. My hope is that with the results I obtain from the blood test and the emails and information I have she won't be allowed to continue to breed cats with predisposed HCM and this wont happen to others.

I also had a bad experience with "Dr" J. If she really is a vet, then she is a bad vet. But honestly I don't even trust her enough to think she is a vet.

I checked her license and she is an actual vet. Although the emergency clinic where she works has gotten lots of bad reviews.
