I was unfortunate enough to trust this breeder and assume we were friends. I gave a female dachshund puppy to this woman at no charge in exchange for a smooth cream female puppy back when the dog was old enough to breed. The dog I gave her had her first litter in January and there were three puppies, one smooth cream female, two black/cream males (one smooth & one longhair).

This breeder claimed she was not going to give me the only female puppy in the litter and that I could "take 2nd pick" or wait for a future litter. That was not our agreement, it stated specifically that I am to get a smooth cream female puppy out of this dog. There is no guarantee that this dog will ever produce another cream female, smooth female, or even any other female puppies.

In May, this puppy is listed on her website as available to a pet home because she is so tiny, well at 12 weeks of age you can't say that a puppy is too small to breed. She was in a good weigh range for a dachshund puppy. She still says I am not entitled to first pick of this litter, well how does that matter when she has the puppy listed for sale? She has no right to sell any of those puppies from that litter until this is resolved in court, and yes I did file a lawsuit against her.

This woman has very poor business practices, she can't even uphold a contract that she signed. She wanted this dog badly and I thought I was doing her a favor by letting her take her at no charge for a puppy back later. I truly regret that I didn't just keep the puppy myself or place her in a pet home. I should not have made this woman a great deal.

I even offered this woman to just pay for the puppy she got from me since she wanted to keep the smooth cream female so badly, she accepted that and then sent another email shortly after and had changed her mind. We went back and forth many times over this ordeal, I tried to work with her to get this worked out but there is no way to do it without going to court. If it's not her idea or what she wants, it just isn't going to happen in her mind.

I would caution everyone not to do business with this woman in any way, as she is very opportunistic and will get her hand in anything that she sees will give her the best end of the deal. If it doesn't lean more toward her favor, she wont even take a second look.

I truly believe she meant to screw me over ever since she picked up the puppy from my house. She needs to understand that you can't just steal a dog from someone and have litter after litter from that dog without any consequence.
