Charged me $79.95 for a Credit report they said was FREE that I NEVER GOT! Orange County

I tried to use CIC as a random service offered on the Internet to check my credit score. After giving them all of my personal info, I never saw a credit report on my computer. I shrugged it off as a data entry error on my part, re-entered my info again and never got a report.

On 7/27/04 I detected a charge on my capital One statement of 79.95 from them. I never signed up for any continuous monitoring service and I wonder if the fee they are charging me is to pay for their continued access to my credit information. I am going to dispute the charge through my credit card company's fraud division, but I don't think I'll see my money again unless there is a legal settlement.

Meanwhile they have full access to my personal credit history which I have worked HARD to repair following a bankruptcy in '98. I feel cheated and violated and I am worried that these creeps will ruin my good credit for going after them to get my money back.
