Reliant communications rip off followed up by a collection company called first federal credit control

Reliant Communications contacted me asking me to sign up with them for all long distance service. They insisted that we would no longer need TDS — the main provider for the area. This wasn't even true — after paying them $250 to begin the service, it became evident that they were just another long distance company.

Shortly after signing up, our long distance went out altogether. We tried repeatedly to report the outage to them — to no avail. We had to get MCI to pick up our long distance service. We never received the paperwork promised by Reliant but we knew we were out far more than the brief long distance service we had would have required: we don't have large long dustance bills.

We didn't hear anything for a relatively brief period then got a notice that we had been turned over to collections!

The company they 'turne us into' was called First Federal Credit Control. I see that there are reports here about FIRST FEDERAL CREDIT CONTROL. They don't have the proof necessary to win in court — but they will damage your credit!

I asked an investigator to contact this company — the company would not give them any information at all and would not allow them to speak to a supervisor. They hang up on anyone that's taping the conversation. I am immediately filing a report with the FCC. This appears to be a scam followed up by a strong arming organization instead of anything real. Buyer beware!
