CVS CVS pharmacy violates privacy rights

I am posting this complaint to let others know that CVS pharmacies violates consumers constitional rights.
I purchased a money order from them on Friday Feb 24 to send to my grandson. I could not purchase a $20.00 money order [that I paid for with a 10,5, and five 1 dollar bills] until I showed my state I.D. That the cashier then entered into their computer.
I asked why they wanted my I.D.? The cashier tried to say that it was required by law. When I pointed out that was a lie, because the post office and other places that sell money orders do not require it, she then confessed it was a CVS requirement.

I asked for the home office number and was only given a 1-800 number. You know what I am talking about, those company numbers that are answered by high school dropouts making minimum wage!

I told the person on the phone that I know for a fact that not EVERYONE purchasing money orders at CVS have to show an I.D. Because my elderly father buys money orders at the same CVS and has never had to show an I.D. I was told that they have had "issues" [the person wouldn't elaborate] and therefore all CVS stores are required to ask for and enter an I.D. Number when someone buys a money order.

I said it is an invasion of privacy if a person is purchasing money orders and has to show an I.D. And that I would file a report with my state and with the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION as well as posting online to let others know what this store does.

Yes, I can and will purchase money orders elsewhere. If I had known the policy before purchasing the money order, I would have gone elsewhere!

So, if you value your constitutuional rights, shop elsewhere, as CVS thinks they are above the law!
