Sent a legitimate looking check for a survey, asked to have proceeds sent to them

Company forwarded a check as payment for a survey. Check was for more than my compensation, and I was asked to forward Market Research Company the difference via western union. This after depositing the check in my own account.

I have heard about the check comes back as account closed, or stolen.
