Charged for Pay-Per-View Movies She Says She Did Not Order

First of I would like to say that I am the one that this happened to and this is a true account that will stun all who read this about Dish Network.

I have a dish 500 system in my home and it is used very little because of a busy schedule and a life style that is always on the go. My nightmare with dish started around the last of Dec and the first week of January. I noticed that there was 4-5 porn movies on my bill when I called dish they explained to me that because they were purchased with a remote control that I myself had bought the movies. Disgusted and upset I ate that bill that cost a good deal.

Today (5/7/04) my elderly father called me over to the house because they noticed a charge on the menu screen when we looked there was over 150.00 worth of porn and movies which made my stomach do flip-flops. So I proceeded to call dish to see if we could rectify this situation the woman I talked to blatantly stated and I quote "well ma'am you must of purchased these movies because they were purchased through your receiver and remote. I politely told her that I had proof and facts to back up that I did not purchase these movies and ask to speak to her supervisor. On the phone with her supervisor I explained the whole situation over again as things progressed into a heated debate he politely told me that my elderly parents were the ones that had bought the movies and they should be responsible for them.

This is were my father came into the whole thing. We really can't repeat what my father had to say but needless to say the end of the whole story is that Dish Network is making me foot the bill on the whole issue with the movies and porn. If anyone can give me any help on this situation it would be a great help. A fixed income is hard to balance especially when you have a big corporation like dish bullying people around.

I no that the corporate offices are no longer taking calls so that is no help. But if anyone needs to no. The FCC and consumer affairs are willing to help in this matter but only in handling the complaints and disputes.
