Dynowatt
Refused to acknowledge contract rate of service, bribed me

Shops, Products, Services

In September I received my August bill from Dynowatt. It was $900. This represents 4X's my normal bill. I have zoned heat and cool and there are two people in my home.

I contacted Dynowatt immediately, and was told even though my contract stated a rate of. 11 PKH rate, the market dictates the rate. This was after having them as my provider for five years.

The rep further stated that he could lower the bill if I signed up for another year. I read the contract to him and it clearly states that unless I give them two weeks notice, the contract remains in effect. I asked him why suddenly the rate change, when in fact the contract stated they would guarantee the. 11 PKH rate as long as the contract was in effect. (there is no lapse date)

The rep said, What we can do for you is lower the rate to the same rate I had if I would sign up for a year contract at that time.

I reminded him that I already had a contract, and that it does not have a cancel date or renewal date.

He repeated what he had said earlier. He refused to acknowledge my comment.

I was forced to sign up for another year to get the bill revised to get a more reasonable rate, and have the bill adjusted.

I cannot tell you how frustrating and maddening the whole encounter was. Being held for ransom like this by the power companies should be illegal.
