Being charged for the whole month after the cancelation

I canceled the service with Impulse Telecom and on 03/15/04 I became Sprint local company's customer. However, few days ago I received a bill from Impulse Telecom to pay by 05/01/04 54.95 for the local service as a CURRENT charges.
