Big time rip off

On Aug 29-11 two young men came to my door and said they were selling some magaiznes and trying to earn points for their company. They also told me they were practicing their communication skills.
To make this short, it was a scam. I gave them almost $300 for magazines and was told that someone would call me from the company before they "cashed" my checks. I never received a call, or receipt for my checks, nor did I receive any magazines. This is a big time rip off scam and never again will I trust a door to door sales person.
