Misleading call charges on public payphones - overcharging actual calls

I used a public pay phone owned by Global Network Communications that was CLEARLY marked in 2 places that ALL CALLS WERE $. 25... including LOCAL.

When I went to make my call, the cost was not $. 25, but $. 50. I needed to make the call so I paid the extra cost with the intention of requesting a refund.

I immediately contacted Global and informed them of my problem and they said to call 211 for a refund, the phone was mis-programmed. I told them I tried and that although I was connected to the 211 recording the keypad did not respond. He then said the phone was broken.

I again asked for a refund and he said they cannot do that.

If you need to use a public payphone... Look on the information for who owns it (usually on the bottom left or right)

Do not use public phones owned by global network communications in bronx, ny.
