I was hired by Miranda Hess to do an illustration for a website she was building. This job came to me through my editor, she said she had worked with Miranda on some web development work and she was looking for an artist to redo a logo they had that was below the quality they wanted to use. I contacted Miranda promptly got the idea of what she was looking for and gave her a very low quote due to the fact she came through a friend, measly $400 for a complete redraw, and color of detailed logo of a guy sitting on a bed. There were multiple preliminary drawings at least 4-5 to make sure the character looked right, then once approved the drawing was inked, scanned and fully rendered based off the style they were looking for. The images i had sent were well enough size for her to use and no water mark was put on there due to the fact i figured i could trust someone who came through my editor.

Well the work was accepted and she disappeared, a month went by, i tried to contact her, had to have my editor contact her. Almost 2 months later i got a message telling me there was an illness in her family that lead to her fathers death. Now i have had family illness/death and nothing has made me drop my work and professionalism. But Miranda has strung me along as if she has had intention on paying but it was all lies as the last efforts were her requesting a pay pal mony payment which was sent and ignored.

I would recomend that anyone considering doing any work for Miranda to reconsider and find someone who is trustworth and not going to take your money and or work and run with it. She comes across nice at first but there is zero follow through on her side as my editor said she had not been able to follow through with the last body of work that she was doing for them.

The work process drug out for over a month but the whole process from start till i am writing this has been six months. Any individual who draggs a business project out this long has no intention of ever paying anyone they work with and should just be considered a criminal. I will never work with any one overseas again.
