Draper & Kramer
Adrienne Supplied all my creditors with my personal information

Shops, Products, Services

Several months ago I applied at the Praire Shores Apartments manager by Draper & Kramer Company located in Chicago, Illinois. The gentle I met with was named Adrienne, a young, very ambitious Asian Pacific young man, I believe.

He appeared very pleasant. We spent about an hour together in the interview process and talked about our families. I filled out the application, got an welcome letter with my apartment number and gave him a deposit on the apartment. He told me to check back in a few days with his partner a female of whom I don't recall. However, the female called me and said I would have to payoff a $700.00 debt on my credit report to lessen my debt ratio.

I said just pick any debtor and pay $700. She said yes. I was really unsure, though I really wanted to move in a short time frame. But I had no room for mistakes or to lose money so I waited for Adrienne to return to the office.

When he returned I went into the Office and he said actually his partner stopped at the first red flag. I had a creditor I owed 5K that I also would need to pay off before being approved. I told him there was a dispute over the amount with that creditor. His pleasant attitude immediately changed and he said I will have to return your deposit but will continue to work on your case.

To me return deposit usually means you are not getting the apartment and I did not have time to wait for their approval process which seemed more and more like a mortgage than an apartment rental.

I was blessed to find an even more beautiful apartment somewhere else shortly thereafter. After I signed my new lease Adrianne from D&K called and said he had good news, I could only pay the $700 dollar creditor. I told him I already found an apartment and he said where like he could not believe it.

He said well if you change your mind, give me a call. Shortly after that I began receiving phone calls from the specific creditors he said I had to pay to move in, then older creditors further back in my credit report followed by that was mail. I know though this seems both unusual and just evil, that Adrienne supplied every creditor on my credit report with my personal information. I know this because I had just brought a new cell phone like one week before my interview with Adrienne. No one had my phone number and I had not heard from any of the creditors in years and all of a sudden the flood gates of creditors were calling my new cell phone number, my job and mail.

I do not know why someone that initially turned me down for an apartment would go to great lengths to cause me such problems but he did. I think this was totally evil, unprofessional and desperate.

I would hope any company that would use or allow their staff to use these tactics would reconsider 1) who they hire and 2) who they keep on staff.

Apartment hunters in Chicago - Do not seek housing at Prarie Shores. Theres no telling what is in store for you whether you get the apartment or not.
