Take Down Security told me that I needed to pay $130 for a registration fee and my uniform

I decided to go job hunting on Craigslist for security jobs. Big Mistake! For everyone out there who are seeking security jobs online be very wary of Craigslist. There are many security service scams on this particular website.

The Craigslist ad for their company (which by the way was not listed in the ad, I had to call to find out!) did seem intriguing at first as they adverised a reasonable pay and that no experience would be needed for the job.

Within no time I called the number listed and spoke to a man who told me the name of the company and about the position (front desk security guard) and the responsibiliies one must take on as a front desk security guard. He asked me if I had any experience in security and when I told him no he told me that it wasn't a problem that they would train me for 3 days free of charge.

He then asked if I could come in later today or tomorrow for an interview and I told him that maybe I could come in later that week. Then he told me what I needed to bring. He said I needed proof of address, my resume, photo i.D., my social security card and oh yeah $130 in case I get the job for the registration fee and for my uniform!!!

Immediately I knew something was wrong as soon as I heard that I needed to pay for the uniform. I didn't even have the job yet your asking me to bring in money?! A uniform is FREE and given to you by the company. Once your time is up, you are to give that uniform back to the company for it is not yours to keep! Why would I pay money for a uniform that I cannot and will not wear anywhere else. It just doesn't add up.

I told him that I would think about it and never called back! I then spoke to a good friend of mine who was once a security guard and she told me that the company is 100% bogus and that she never had to pay a registration fee nor did she have to pay for her uniform! With that said, TakeDown Securiy is a SCAM! So don't allow them to Take YOU DOWN!
