Account put on restriction

I have been a member of Ebay for over 11 years. Saturday 6/12 I received a message from Ebay informing me that my account was put on restriction because they had linked me to a suspended account that had a balance due.

I have absouletely no affiliation with this other account and spent over an hour on the phone Saturday trying to explain this to them, they did not care what I had to say.

I have communicated with them with over 10 messages, each time they respond they simply tell me to log into the suspended account and make the payment.By the way one of the reps I talked to on Saturday told me the amount due was a whopping $5.16. I have nothing to do with the account but I would be willing to pay that amount just to end this! But they won't let me pay unless I log into the account, which of course I can't, because I have no idea what the password is.

I faxed them proof of my identity (I have no idea what this proves), and now they say it will take 3-10 days to clear it up. I think this is totally to much time, I have items I need to sell. I am also not confident this will clear this up.

Ebay has absoulte no customer service, when I spoke with them on Saturday every response they made was 'I understand' they don't have a clue. They are punishing a loyal customer of over 11 years for an error on their part. Very frustrating!
