I have applied at Safeway several times, via internet. I have been faithfully following up with these applications only to be told "we have no openings at this time", over, and over again, when there are employment openings advertised. I am also a customer in this same Safeway and I personally see quite a turnover in employees. Why not hire someone you can depend on, instead of having to re-hire and train constantly? I have made it known that I am older, very dependable, and live within walking distance of the store. I understand the current job market, and know jobs are hard to come by. I have seen people hired that can hardly speak English and have no customer service skills and/or experience in retail. I have had 1 (one) interview with no results. Is there a way I can inquire about my hiring status? Is there a way I can inquire about hiring policies? Why does Safeway waste their time and money hiring people that have no intention of making it their priority? I thank your time and attention regarding this matter and look forward to your reply.
