Great Expectations dating
Complete rip-off and scam from verbal lies that state one can cancel at any time given to consumers to get them to sign contract

Shops, Products, Services

I would like to file a class action lawsuit against Great Expectations dating services in Dallas, TX. So many consumers, in over 15 states, have been completely scammed in person into signing their dating contract for $50/mth for 3 years, under the false verbal promise that they'd be able to cancel at any time, and to sign there quickly on the line, on a form with small, fine writing in print that has no cancellation policy whatsoever.

Consumers have used the words "fraud", "scam" and "rip-off" to describe GE: it's time we came together to address these grievances from the monetary and punitive damages caused by GE.

To describe our situation in detail: my husband Tracey Call III, went to Great Expectations in August (a month before he met and started dating me, with our meeting completely unrelated to GE) in order to learn more about their dating service. The Sales Associate named Leslie told Tracey about the $50/mth contract for 3 yrs, to which he said he didn't think it would take him that long to find the person he wanted to marry. She told him not to worry; that he could cancel at any time.

Tracey asked if there were any cancellation fees, and Leslie said there were none.

Tracey wrote to GE to cancel (as he was promised he could) in January when Tracey and I got engaged.in February, they billed him again.

Tracey recontacted GE, to which they told him there was nothing they could do—that he had signed the forms and that he was stuck with a 3 yr contract for $50/mth.

He contacted the Better Business Bureau, to which he was told the same thing (unless he had proof of a recording of the verbal agreement), and has contacted 2 separate attorneys, who also told him the same thing.

He has been paying their company faithfully for one year and 7 mths, with the great irony that he has not used their service ONCE in this entire time or since he had signed up for the service, doing this because he doesn't see any other choice in order to keep a good line of credit, but because he decided not to pay this last month's payment, they have charged him $207 in late fees
for a $50 backpay.

Reviewing other websites, I am only seeing the words "fraud", "scam" and "rip-off" in relation to this company Great Expectations, with multiple horror stories from consumers.

Please help me file a class action lawsuit in behalf of my all-too-kind husband, to get his money back, to get the time and effort we have spent on this headache back, and to get us out of this fraudulent contract that he was promised he would be able to cancel at any time, and as soon as he wanted to, without any cancellation fees. Thank you.
