Thanks for the warnings re, it was a near miss!

Thanks to everyone who posted warnings about the Bernard Haldane method of "helping" people to get jobs. I just got off the phone with an appointment-setter at the local BH office. I was thrilled to get an interview, and rushed to my PC to recheck what I sent to them. I did a search on Bernard Haldane to get more background info, and boy howdie, did I ever! I am so thankful that I stumbled onto the complaint.

After 16 years in the same career path, I was laid off on 10/16 from the $60k/yr job I loved at AT&T. Here in Kansas City, downsizing in the telecommunication field has been massive. There are over 7,000 of us competing now for the same jobs. I haven't had one interview or call since my severance. Layoffs are a kick in the stomach to anyone; I for one have been feeling sad and very shaky in the self-esteem department. What bastards BH must be to prey on people in their most vulnerable moments! As soon as I log off, I will call BH back and tell them the truth why I'm canceling my "interview" tomorrow.
